Emperor drills 20.1m ‘strong’ gold zone

Emperor Metals (CSE:AUOZ) has intersected 20.1m @ 5 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 436m at its Duquesne West Gold Project in Québec, Canada.

The result from hole DQ26-46 was returned from an estimated vertical depth of 375m and targeted mineralised lenses previously tested by drilling spaced 100–150m apart.

CEO John Florek says the result demonstrates the thickness, grade, and continuity of the project’s replacement-style mineralisation.

“What we are demonstrating is the substantial thickness and grade of one of several mineralised lenses that exhibit significant replacement-style mineralisation and continuity,” Florek says.

He adds that the results highlight the potential to add ounces within and beyond the existing resource footprint.

Other results from the latest release include 12.4m @ 1.6g/t Au, while resampling of previously unsampled historical core returned 3m @ 2.7g/t Au.

Emperor completed its 2025–2026 exploration program on budget, drilling 66 holes for 20,479m and resampling about 8,000m of historical core. Results have been received for 38 holes covering 12,128m, or about 58% of the new drilling.

The infill program is refining the geological model and supporting the potential conversion of inferred resources to the indicated category in a future mineral resource estimate update.

Emperor notes it has completed 142,758m of drilling at Duquesne West and is targeting a preliminary economic assessment in the near term.

The project, located in Québec’s Abitibi Greenstone Belt, hosts an inferred mineral resource estimate of 26.9 million tonnes @ 1.69g/t Au for 1.46 million ounces.

The company holds an option to acquire the 1,389-hectare Duquesne West property from Duparquet Assets, a company half-owned by Globex Mining Enterprises (TSX:GMX).

Emperor Metals is a Canadian gold exploration and development company focused on the Duquesne West and Lac Pelletier projects in Québec’s southern Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
