Global commercial explosives company Dyno Nobel continues to expand its electronic detonator line as it focuses on eliminating misfires and increasing safety in the mining sector.
Dyno Nobel’s new DigiShot XR series has been designed with extreme shock resistance. The series includes three detonators – DigiShot XR, DigiShot Plus XR, and DigiShot Plus XRS.
The series integrates with CE4 control equipment and can be used with Trojan Shield boosters for additional shock protection.

Chief Technology and Marketing Officer Braden Lusk says the new detonators improve upon the industry’s current offerings with tailored technologies built to perform in extreme conditions.
In high-dynamic shock environments where detonator failure is possible, DigiShot XR, DigiShot Plus XR, and DigiShot Plus XRS offer shock and EMP resistance through designed stress relief, precise component placement, and material selection, he notes.
DigiShot Plus XR and DigiShot Plus XRS also provide a 30% increase in programmable time delay for enhanced design flexibility. DigiShot Plus XRS features a hardened shell, offering additional dynamic shock resistance.
