Global Resources Innovation Expo Opens in Brisbane

The Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX25) has opened at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, running from 20–22 May, in a major showcase of innovation, technology, and sustainability for the global mining sector.

Hosted by Austmine in partnership with AusIMM, GRX25 is expected to attract more than 2,000 delegates, featuring over 70 mining companies including principal sponsor BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) and 150 exhibitors from across the mining equipment, technology and services (METS) landscape.

With the theme ‘Embracing a New Era’, GRX25 explores transformative change across the global resources industry, highlighting trailblazing technologies, the power of disruption, and the next generation of leadership.

Austmine CEO Chris Gibbs Stewart said the event marks an important milestone in industry collaboration.

“Since 2005, the Austmine Conference has set the benchmark for innovation in mining. GRX25 represents a bold step forward — bringing together two powerful communities to drive strategic conversations, showcase Australian leadership, and help set a global agenda,” Gibbs Stewart said.

AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin adds that GRX25 is designed to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, tech-enabled future.

“This is a conference by industry, for industry. Together, we’re creating a world-class platform that allows professionals, suppliers, researchers and policymakers to come together and chart the course ahead,” he said.

The GRX25 program includes keynote presentations, expert panels, technical workshops and networking sessions, with cross-sector participation from space, defence, manufacturing, education, and government.

Exhibitors include Dyno Nobel, OneAdvanced, Russell Mineral Equipment, SRO Technology, and many others showcasing the latest in automation, digital solutions, emissions reduction and clean energy technology.

GRX25 also features an expanded Austmine Industry Awards program, recognising excellence in innovation, collaboration, and sustainability across the METS and mining value chain.
