Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) has intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatites in a drilling program at the Falcon Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada.
The 2024 summer drilling program comprises 4,000m to 5,000m of drilling, targeting several of the 30 high-priority pegmatite discoveries from the 2023 field program.
At the Falcon Little Lake target, seven holes were drilled, with six holes intersecting mineralisation.
Battery Age, which has a market capitalisation of $12.57 million, says samples from this target are being expedited, and further drilling is planned, pending these results.
CEO Nigel Broomham says the results from Falcon Little Lake are promising as it reveals substantial mineralisation that is open in all directions.
“The multiple wide intercepts of spodumene-bearing pegmatites across new and existing targets underscore the significant potential of this project,” Broomham says.
“The discovery of 50.1m of mineralised pegmatite at Falcon Little Lake, along with our significant intercepts, marks a major milestone in our exploration efforts. These findings not only confirm the scale of the mineralised system but also highlight the untapped potential of the Falcon Lake Project.
“As we await the assay results, which are expected in the coming weeks, our team remains committed to unlocking the full value of this project. The early success of this drilling program sets a strong foundation for the rest of the year, and we are eager to continue building on this momentum.”
Since starting drilling, results include drillhole 24FL-105 with 50.1m of mineralised pegmatite intersected from 79.4m; and drillhole 24FL-103 with 43.35m of mineralised pegmatite from 55.8m.
At the Falcon East Extension, seven holes tested the down dip extension of the mineralisation at the start of the 2024 summer program. Battery Age says the results are “encouraging” with a cumulative total of 65.7m of strongly mineralised pegmatites intersected by drillhole 24FL-087.
Battery Age notes further results confirm the potential for this target to grow along strike and to the south-south-east.
