Delta Lithium records ‘best-tenor’ mineralisation to date at Yinnetharra Project in WA

Perth-based explorer and developer Delta Lithium (ASX:DLI) has recorded the ‘best-tenor’ mineralisation of any pegmatite to date at its Yinnetharra Project in Western Australia.

The company reports ‘stunning’ new assays from the M36 pegmatite within the Malinda prospect include YRRD118 with 33m @ 1.9% Li2O from 218m; and YRRD114 with 19m @ 1.6% Li2O from 190m.

Delta considers these results ‘extremely important’ for the exploration program, as they were recorded in holes that are a ‘significant’ step-out along strike from previous M36 results.

Additionally, the company says each round of results from exploration at Yinnetharra has consistently informed and improved Delta’s understanding of the orebody.

Commenting on the results, Delta Lithium Executive Chairman David Flanagan says: “Yinnetharra is a big system: 216 holes in and we have pegmatites defined along 1.6km of strike, stacked in a package more than a kilometre wide.

Mineralisation is open down-plunge, and it’s right here in Western Australia, the single biggest lithium-producing region on the planet”

Mineralisation is open down-plunge, and it’s right here in Western Australia, the single biggest lithium-producing region on the planet. We are very pleased with results to date, and with multiple targets to test, we have massive upside ahead of us.”

Delta reports it has completed 216 holes for 51,208m at Yinnetharra to date and notes results from a further 102 reverse circulation (RC) holes are being assayed, with results due in batches over the next few months. The company also says it is on track to complete around 100 additional holes before September 2023 at the project.

Delta Lithium is a Perth-based exploration and development company focused on bringing ‘high-quality’ lithium-bearing pegmatite deposits in Western Australia into production. Along with Yinnetharra, the company also holds the Mt Ida Lithium, Eureka Mine, and Earaheedy Basin Lead-Zinc projects in Western Australia.

The Yinnetharra Lithium Project is an early-stage exploration project that covers 505km-square within the Gascoyne Lithium Province, and the Malinda prospect features 6 ‘well-defined’ mineralised pegmatites.
