Delta launches sustainable power solution

Delta Electronics has launched a new uninterruptible power supply (UPS) – RT Pro UPS – designed to work with battery storage systems as well improving energy resilience across resources and technology infrastructure.

Speaking to Mining.com.au, Vice President of Business for Southeast Asia David Leal says a big part of technology as it has matured is power efficiency.

“More recently, a lot of that technology is covered in data centres and increasingly, mining companies are having containerised data centres onsite,” Leal says.

“Power efficiency is an important part of that area because data centres need power. We continue to focus on ways to provide power systems that increase efficiency.”

An uninterruptible power supply is a type of continual power system that provides automated backup electric power to a lead when the input power source or mains power fails.

“What we do at Delta is pretty much anything related to power, and it is always pushing the envelope to find more high efficiency solutions,” Leal says.

The new solution features online power efficiency, unity power factor, and flexibility in a compact 2U size. The RT Pro UPS has also been engineered to protect critical applications from power disruptions that could compromise essential services.

RT Pro UPS delivers up to 94.3% online efficiency and features an ECO mode that pushes performance even further, reaching an efficiency of up to 99%. The solution can also extend battery lifespan through reduced power cycling with a wide 120 to 280 volt input range and a smart three-stage battery charge mechanism.

Country Manager Tom Hew adds that this new product further extends the commitment to develop technologies that offer the “best performance in the market”, while also providing the smallest environmental footprint.

“The energy demand on some of our most critical pieces of infrastructure are huge, which is why Delta’s RT Pro UPS is such an important solution for many of our partners,” Hew says.

Delta Electronics is focused on playing a key role in Australia’s digital infrastructure evolution, powering data centres, supporting critical operations, and enabling energy resilience across several sectors.
