‘High grade’ mineralisation has been unearthed at Great Boulder’s (ASX:GBR) Side Well Gold Project, 10km east of Meekatharra in Western Australia’s Midwest region.
Deep drilling intersected grades of up to 4,434 grams per tonne of gold approximately 430 metres underground at the Mulga Bill deposit. At 1.93 metres deep they intersected grades of up to 574.39g/t gold.
The project, which neighbours Westgold Resources’ (ASX:WGX) Paddy’s Flat Gold Project, contains a mineral resource estimate of 16 million tonnes at 2g/t gold for 1.02 million ounces of gold.
Great Boulder Managing Director Andrew Paterson believes these results indicate high-grade veins continuing at depth, which could mean “big implications” for resource potential due to the Mulga Bill-Eaglehawk resource’s 2.5km length.
“The hit of 4434g/t gold 200m below Mulga Bill is particularly exciting given that this resource extends for 2.5km along strike,” Paterson says.
“Combined with the outstanding hit 90 metres west of the resource, the implications of these results for the overall resource are clearly significant.”
Immediate follow up drilling will be performed on the new areas, high-grade intersections beneath the 122,000 ounce resource at the Ironbark deposit and early-stage targets in the eastern corridor. The drilling program is fully-funded with approximately $12 million of cash.
Three processing plants and other existing mining infrastructure surrounds the site in the Murchison sub-region.
The company is planning further reverse circulation drilling programs for ongoing work at Mulga Bill, Eaglehawk and Golden Bracelet to mobilise additional rigs and accelerate resource growth.
