Dateline Resources (ASX:DTR) has staked 66 additional claims covering approximately 1,300 acres at its Music Valley Heavy Rare Earth (HREE) Project in California.
The new claims are located in the northwest of the project area, approximately 6km southeast of Twentynine Palms in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
These claims cover an extension of the northwest geophysical target and consolidate district-wide control of the Music Valley area.
Field mapping by the company’s heavy rare earth and structural consultants, Tony Mariano Jr and Russell Mason, has identified extensive outcropping Pinto Gneiss at both the northwest and southern target areas.
Pinto Gneiss is recognised as the principal host for heavy rare earth mineralisation in the district and was the focus of historic United States Geological Survey (USGS) sampling that returned ‘high-grade’ heavy rare earth results.
“The identification of extensive outcropping Pinto Gneiss within both the northwest and southern target areas is an encouraging development,” Managing Director Stephen Baghdadi says.
“As mapping and sampling continue, we are rapidly advancing our understanding of the project and building the geological framework required to support a maiden drill program.”
The northwest target area shows extensive rock exposures with little to no cover material. The biotite-rich Pinto Gneiss unit was mapped in several locations across this area, correlating with the thorium anomaly identified in geophysical surveys.
Field work at the southern target area, located within tenements acquired by Dateline in February 2026, revealed that the Pinto Gneiss appears to have multiple sub-units with different geological properties.
