Dateline Resources (ASX: DTR) has encountered ‘high-grade’ gold mineralisation including a 100.6m @ 4.16g/t Au hit during a recent confirmation drilling program at its Colosseum Gold Project in California, United States.
The results, generated from five drill holes totalling 605m, have successfully verified the geology of the deposit and have returned gold grades of up to 13.78g/t, with key results including:
- Hole CM22-05: 100.6m @ 4.16g/t Au from 79.24m; incl.
- 19.81m @ 5.19g/t Au from 79.24m
- 3.05m @ 13.78g/t Au from 80.77m
- 16.8m @ 6.76g/t Au from 112.78m
- 7.6m @ 12.74g/t Au from 132.59m
- 4.6m @ 7.10g/t Au from 158.50m
Speaking on the results, Dateline Resources Managing Director Stephan Baghdadi said: “The drilling program at the Colosseum has proven that high grade mineralisation continues below the historic resource shell. The final assay results for hole CM22-05 are significantly better than we had expected and prove that gold is contained in several of the breccia lithologies.
“The final assay results for hole CM22-05 are significantly better than we had expected”
100 metres of 4.16g/t Au is a great result and is amplified by the fact that the high-grade sedimentary breccia unit returned results that prove the continued grade at depth. Historic drill logs state that the sedimentary breccia unit is still present over 600m below the bottom of drill hole CM22-05 and is open at depth.
The company is well advanced with the estimation of the Mineral resource at Colosseum using the validated historical database.”
The company also notes that these results deliver further potential that a ‘significant’ mineralisation deposit exists and continues at depth below the current Colosseum Mineral Resource model. The results are expected to contribute in the finalisation of a JORC-2012 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate for the deposit.

The 100%-owned Colosseum Gold Project is located along the Walker Lane Trend in East San Bernardino County, California, and was acquired by Dateline from Barrick Gold Corporation in 2021.
Gold Production at the project occurred between 1988 and 1993, delivering a total of 344,000 ounces of gold from a 700,000 ounce reserve. Mining was cut short at 4.5 years out of the planned 9 year timeline with gold prices sitting below USD $350.
With the data validation drilling program at Colosseum now complete, the company reports that it will move forward with diamond drilling operations beneath the Mineral Resource model while it awaits finalisation of its JORC-2012 Mineral Resource Estimate for the deposit.
