Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) has unlocked a potential zirconium and rare earth element district with its 2025 exploration program from the company’s wholly owned Blue Lagoon Project in Greenland.
The 2025 program comprised a systematic geochemical sampling campaign to evaluate the distribution, tenor, and deportment of rare earth elements. At each sampling location, material was collected and separated into grain-size fractions prior to laboratory analysis, providing insight into the behaviour of these elements.
Surface samples of zirconium and hafnium include 4.42% zirconium oxide and 98 parts per million (ppm) hafnium oxide, 4.09% zirconium oxide and 99ppm hafnium oxide, and 3.82% zirconium oxide and 82ppm hafnium oxide.
The Blue Lagoon Project also returned high-grade rare earths results with consistent elevated magnet rare earth oxides (MREO) with total rare earth oxides (TREO) grades including 8,079ppm TREO with 29% MREO; 6,491ppm TREO with 27% MREO; and 5,668ppm TREO with 27% MREO.
CEO John Morgan says that these initial results “represent a highly encouraging start to modern exploration” at Blue Lagoon.
“The scale and consistency of rare earth, niobium, and zirconium anomalism over a ~2.7km strike, combined with exceptionally low uranium and thorium levels, confirms we are dealing with a robust and regionally extensive critical minerals system,” Morgan says.
This maiden exploration program has established a strong geochemical foundation for the company to conduct follow-up exploration. Results will be combined with geological mapping, mineralogical studies, and remote sensing data to further refine priority targets.
Greenland is of growing strategic interest from Western governments seeking to secure critical mineral supply chains.
