Dalaroo kicks off 2026 field season at Blue Lagoon

Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) has commenced mobilisation for its 2026 exploration program at the Blue Lagoon critical minerals project in southern Greenland, with fleet transport and logistics actively underway to the project area.

The company’s 2026 exploration is designed to expand the 2.7km mineralised corridor containing rare earth elements, zirconium, and hafnium discovered in 2025.

The company has completed its project planning and entered the logistics phase, with Xploration Services Greenland mobilising heavy equipment, field camp infrastructure, and initial provisions for transport via barge through local fjords to the main project area.

CEO John Morgan, Exploration Manager Trystan Hughes, and additional field personnel are transitioning to the project area, with on-site deployment and camp setup tracking on schedule. The company says it expects to commence field exploration in the coming days.

Morgan says that mobilisation for exploration is an exciting milestone for the company.

“Moving heavy equipment, camp infrastructure, and scientific gear through these icy fjords requires meticulous planning, and our logistics partners at Xploration Services Greenland are doing a phenomenal job ensuring everything moves safely and efficiently,” Morgan says.

“Importantly, this program is designed to build upon the encouraging results from our maiden 2025 field season, which confirmed a large-scale critical minerals system extending over at least 2.7km.

“The integration of onshore auger drilling and offshore seabed sampling provides an exciting opportunity to test whether heavy mineral concentrations extend beyond the shoreline and potentially increase the overall scale of the system.”

Dalaroo’s ‘source-to-sink’ model

This mobilisation marks Dalaroo’s transition as it begins its month-long field program, which will systematically test the scale of the Blue Lagoon mineralised system in both onshore and offshore environments.

Once the barge arrives and the field camp becomes operational, Dalaroo will focus on two key areas: onshore and offshore targets.

For the onshore targets, the company will commence detailed geological and structural mapping, surface sampling, sediment characterisation, and grain-size analysis, systematic auger drilling, and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys to track heavy mineral distribution paths.

For the offshore targets, Dalaroo will conduct geochemical sampling, bathymetric profiling, and Van Veen seabed grab sampling from local marine vessels, while evaluating potential hydraulic concentration zones.

Following camp establishment and completion of mobilisation, the company will commence auger drilling, offshore seabed sampling, geological mapping and sampling, metallurgical test work, and analysis of GPR results.
