Chariot Corporation (ASX:CC9) has secured seven applications for exploration licences in the Southern Cross Greenstone Belt of Western Australia.
The Southern Cross Greenstone Belt is host to more than 150 mines and is now emerging as a key region for lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatites.
The licences are considered to be prospective for primarily gold and lithium and are strategically positioned between the Earl Grey Lithium Mine and the Marvel Loch Gold Centre.
Chariot, which has a market capitalisation of $12.61 million, has engaged ERM Sustainable Mining Services to undertake a geological review of the applications.
Once the licences are granted, the company intends to conduct several exploration activities including geological mapping, surface sampling, geochemical surveys, and drilling programs based on the results obtained.
The company notes key geological attributes of the licences include deformed greenstone sequences with late-stage granitic intrusions, structural corridors hosting lithium-bearing pegmatites, and proximity to the Marvel Loch gold system.
Chariot notes while it works to unlock value from its Western Australian assets, the company remains focused on advancing its flagship Black Mountain Project in Wyoming, US.
The Black Mountain Project is a hard rock lithium asset, featuring large spodumene-bearing pegmatites.
Chariot Corporation is a diversified junior mineral explorer focused on its portfolio of projects in the US.
