Carawine Resources completes drilling program at Tropicana North Gold Project in WA

Carawine Resources (ASX:CWX) has completed an aircore (AC) drilling program at the Blue Bell South and Python tenements, within the company’s Tropicana North Gold Project, located in Western Australia.

The drill program was designed to target historic drillhole gold anomalism within the two tenements, consisting of 104 holes completed for 6,497m of drilling.

Carawine reports historic data at the Blue Bell South tenement includes, drillhole BAC0393 with 1m @ 0.20g/t Au from 67m, which is associated with lower saprolite bedrock above a biotite-rich syenite; and one line of drilling across the interpreted southern strike extent of the Yamarna greenstone belt.

Additionally, 2 ‘significant’ intervals were reported from the historic data at the Python tenement including at Area 1, drillhole 18AFAC10887 with 4m @ 0.61g/t Au from 42m; and at Area 2, drillhole TTA109 with 1m @ 0.50g/t Au from 59m (to end of hole).

Commenting on the completion of the program, Carawine Resources Managing Director David Boyd says: “We have identified multiple exploration targets from historic data across Carawine’s Tropicana North Gold Project, so it is great to see the first of these being tested as part of our regional exploration program.”

The Blue Bell South tenement is located on the southern extent of the Yamarna greenstone belt, 90km south of the Gruyere gold mine. The company states that drilling was completed at the Tallows North and Liberty target areas, identified from historic exploration data.

Carawine reports that 4 lines of AC comprising 60 holes were drilled for 3,682m at Tallows North, and 1 line of AC comprising 4 holes were drilled for 471m, targeting the Liberty trend to the southeast.

The Python tenement is located 30km south of the Tropicana gold mine, and much of the tenement has been drilled by previous explorers.

Carawine identified 2 gold targets and 1 magmatic nickel-copper target in 3 areas of interest. In addition, 2 of those interest areas were the focus of follow-up AC drilling, which were Python Area 1 and 2.

Python Area 1 consisted of 1 line of AC comprising 7 holes drilled for 341m, targeting the northern extent of this gold anomaly. Area 2 consisted of 3 lines of AC comprising 32 holes drilled for 2,003m, targeting the anomalous gold trend.

The company’s Tropicana North Gold Project covers an 80km strike of the Tropicana Belt. The project consists of 13 granted exploration licences and 2 exploration licence applications, which combined cover an area of more than 2,400km-square.

Carawine reports that all samples have been received at the assay laboratory, with results expected in mid-Q2 2023.

Carawine Resources is an Australian gold, copper, and base metals exploration company, with a primary focus on exploring and developing economic gold, copper, and base metal deposits within Australia.
