Capricorn kicks off Karlawinda’s siteworks

Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM) has begun work at the Karlawinda Expansion Project in Western Australia, with early progress achieved towards targeted first gold production in Q1 FY2027.

The expansion works at the project aim to increase processing capacity of Karlawinda to 6.5 million tonnes per year and gold production to around 150,000 ounces per year.

Construction activities are progressing at the 164-room accommodation and the plant site concrete contractor has mobilised to site.

The process plant design is progressing to 75% complete and early orders have been placed on all mechanical equipment packages. The ball mill has been purchased and is scheduled to arrive in Q4 FY2026, ahead of commissioning.

Executive Chairman Mark Clark says the company looks forward to delivering a project that will lift gold production at the low-cost, high-margin Karlawinda operation by 25%.

The Karlawinda Project, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, hosts a 2.2 million ounce resource and 1.2 million ounce reserve deposit and other areas deemed prospective for gold.

Capricorn Metals is an Australian gold producer headquartered in Perth, Western Australia.
