Caprice Resources kicks off RC drilling at Northampton Polymetallic Project

Multi-commodity exploration company Caprice Resources (ASX:CRS) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Northampton Polymetallic Project in Western Australia.

This new program, which totals about 850m of drilling across 10 to 12 holes, is aiming to test the north-south base metals mineralisation on historical workings at the Lady Sampson prospect.

The hole locations have been guided by historical costeaning, which identified copper and lead-rich zones. Caprice says the results from these costeans also indicated that there may possibly be zonation between the copper dominant, and the lead-zinc dominant mineralisation.

This will be a major milestone as this part of the Northampton project has never been drilled before”

Commenting on the RC drilling program, Caprice Resources Managing Director Andrew Muir said: “We are very excited to finally be testing Lady Sampson following delays in permitting. This will be a major milestone as this part of the Northampton project has never been drilled before, even though there is evidence of historical base metal mineralisation.”

Caprice reports this drilling should take between 8 to 10 days to complete, with assays expected to be returned 4 to 6 weeks after drilling finishes.

Previous drilling conducted by the company in late 2020 close to the Wheal Fortune Mine in the Northampton mineral field returned ‘outstanding’ results of 31m @ 1.1% copper (Cu), 2% lead (Pb), and 9g/t silver (Ag), including 3m @ 3.8% Cu, 3.8% Pb and 3g/t Ag.

Caprice also notes the Northampton mineral field is a historical mining area with over 100 years of base metal mining, with minimal on-ground exploration completed during the last 50 years.
