Caprice Resources (ASX: CRS) reports that it has delineated a continuous 1km+ regolith gold anomalous zone at the Solis prospect within its Island Gold Project in Western Australia.
Standout intersections from the broad-spaced, 80-hole AC drilling program include:
- Hole 22IGAC0045:
- 12m @ 0.5g/t Au from 20m; including
- 4m @ 1.0g/t Au from 28m
- 12m @ 0.5g/t Au from 20m; including
- Hole 22IGAC0046:
- 8m @ 0.5g/t Au from 48m.
The first pass program was tasked with identifying low-level regolith gold anomalies of at least 0.1g/t Au, with results supporting the view that Lake Austin is prospective for gold mineralisation.
Commenting on the results, Caprice Resources Managing Director Andrew Muir said: “The Solis aircore drilling program has been very successful. It has identified a large gold anomaly in a previously untested area. In particular, the large scale and coherent nature of the anomaly is very promising. The presence of such a large anomaly is a proof of concept that Solis and Lake Austin has the potential to host gold mineralisation.

The 80 hole AC program was completed for a total of 2,451m at the Solis prospect, located at the southern end of Lake Austin within the E 21/186 tenement. The program was the first drilling carried out in this area.
Lines were spaced approximately 400m apart, with 80m hole spacing. The program intercepted multiple ‘significant’ results, including 4m @ 1.0g/t Au from 28m in 22IGAC0046.

High-priority followup drilling is set to commence in Q2 2022, pending rig availability, and will involve infill AC work between existing intercepts as well as targeting extensions to the east and south.
1m resampling of anomalous composite intervals will be completed in the coming weeks, with results expected in 2-4 weeks. Results from the resampling are anticipated to provide better insights on the grades and distribution of gold.
Bottom of hole multi-element samples will also be submitted for analysis now that initial AC results have been received.
