Burley Minerals kicks off with reconnaissance mapping at Chubb Lithium Project

Burley Minerals (ASX:BUR) reports its exploration team is starting additional reconnaissance mapping and sampling at 2 prospects within the Chubb Lithium Project in Quebec, Canada.

The mapping and sampling programs are being conducted over the Chubb and Chubb North prospects where numerous pegmatites have previously been identified. Additionally the aim of the programs is to review the associations of the spodumene-pegmatites with the granite host rock, which will facilitate further target generation.

Burley also reports that its initial diamond core program at the project has expanded the known mineralisation to the south and down-dip ‘significantly’ beyond prior drilling.

Additionally, initial visual estimates have confirmed the presence and persistence of spodumene-bearing pegmatites within 2 mineralised zones within the Chubb Central prospect.

The company states that drilling is continuing to test for mineralised extensions, both long strike and at depth. Initial assays are anticipated within 3 to 4 weeks.

Commenting on the ongoing activities, Burley Minerals Managing Director, Wayne Richards says: “Burley’s drilling program at the Chubb Lithium Project got off to a very successful start in early April 2023, with numerous spodumene-bearing pegmatite intersections visually identified, that correlate well with 2017-2022 drill assay results.

The exploration team is excited by the early positive indications, especially after only completing the acquisition of Chubb Project in early February.

Of particular interest is hole CLP010 which intersected 12.27m of spodumene-bearing pegmatite downhole, confirming mineralisation, which is of a good thickness, and is open at depth and along strike to the south. Geological modelling suggests that the main dyke is also open to the north.”

The company also reports that it is finalising the acquisition of the Bouvier Lithium Project, located 14km to the northwest of the Chubb Project. Burley says company geologists are currently planning and permitting the inaugural drilling program which will begin once the mapping and sampling is complete.

The Chubb Lithium Project covers an area of 15km-square and is located in a strategic and prolific lithium province with ‘significant’ lithium projects surrounding Burley’s mineral claims.

Burley Minerals is a Perth-based ASX-listed minerals explorer with lithium and iron ore projects in Quebec, Canada, and Western Australia. The company wholly owns the Chubb Lithium Project along with the Mt James and Dragon Lithium projects in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.
