Burley Minerals (ASX:BUR) has identified 6 new pegmatite targets through mapping and field mineral vectors at its Chubb North Lithium Project in Canada.
Specifically, the targets follow recent geological mapping, field portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) mineral geochemical vectors, and geophysical surveys across the area.
Additional approvals have been received to allow for the drilling of these pegmatite targets at Chubb North, which is anticipated to begin shortly to test for spodumene mineralisation.
The $20.25 million market capitalisation company adds that ambient noise tomography (ANT) geophysical survey preliminary results identified potential structural anomalies to the northeast of Chubb Central.
Burley says these may represent emplacement sites for lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites. Data is still undergoing further processing, which will be tested in future drilling upon data confirmation.

Commenting on the ongoing activities, Burley Minerals Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stewart McCallion says: “Burley’s recently completed fieldwork at the Chubb Lithium Project in Quebec, Canada, has identified, through mapping and field mineral geochemistry, potentially fertile pegmatites, and with permitting now complete, we plan to drill here immediately.
“Drilling at Chubb Central has continued to infill and extend the mineralised zone down-plunge”
Drilling at Chubb Central has continued to infill and extend the mineralised zone down-plunge. The company has now completed approximately 7,000m of diamond drilling since April of this year combined with mapping, geochemistry, and geophysics targeting.
We are very encouraged about the new drill-permitted targets, which have opened a large, undrilled area at Chubb North. We are excited as the team successfully continues to progress this highly prospective project, strategically located in the tier-one lithium province of Quebec, Canada.”
Burley Minerals is a Perth-based minerals exploration company with lithium and iron ore assets in Western Australia and Quebec. The company’s wholly owned Chubb project is located 25km from the mining centre of Val d’Or.
As of 30 June 2023, the company had $5.465 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
