David Crook has offered his resignation as a non-executive director of Burley Minerals (ASX:BUR), reducing the board size to the Managing Director plus three non-executive directors.
Crook will continue to provide geological consulting services to the group as required.
Burley non-executive Chairman Dan Bahen says over the past two years particularly Crook was instrumental in imparting his lithium and LCT pegmatite exploration and evaluation knowledge and guidance.
“I and the rest of the board have valued David’s active involvement and input and we wish David all the best in his future endeavours,” Bahen says.
“The Burley board retains its core experience and skills required to demonstrate the value of Burley’s iron ore projects in the world’s premier iron ore province.
“Burley’s preparation for its maiden drill program on its Cane Bore Iron Project is progressing well and remains on track to start in March 2025.”
On 29 January, Mining.com.au reported Burley had identified an additional sizeable target from the West Flank within the Cane Bore Iron Project in Western Australia, after receiving rock chip assays.
The results, which come from the second shipment of samples collected along the West Flank, support earlier work and indicate mineralisation of iron at surface. The assays from 45 samples average 46.8% iron with a peak grade of 56.2% iron.
Burley intends to begin a maiden drilling program as soon as possible, following the first heritage survey. The drilling program is designed to determine an inferred resource over prominent channel iron deposit (CID) mesa-forms on the East Flank, which comprises the South and North targets.
An additional step-out target is also approved for exploration at a later stage.
