Blaze Minerals (ASX:BLZ) has entered a binding agreement to acquire up to 90% interest in three base and precious metals projects in Botswana.
The company will acquire a stake in the Dinokwe, Kalahari, and Molopo projects, covering a total of 1,585km2 and three prospecting licences.
A further seven prospecting licences are currently in application for an additional 3,366km2.
Blaze is scheduled to begin field activities across the projects next week, with community engagement programs currently under way.
Field activities include geological mapping, rock-chip sampling, and broad spaced soil sampling.
Managing Director Mathew Walker says the projects provide Blaze with a “substantial footprint within and adjacent to a world class geological corridor”.
“The desktop review of regional geophysics recently commissioned by the company has provided some standout targets for immediate attention,” Walker says.
Dinokwe hosts three prospecting licences, along with another under application, for a total area of 1,771km2 in the Limpopo Mobile Belt, which is prospective for base metal deposits.
Meanwhile, the Kalahari Project is under application for four licences across 2,968km2 and runs adjacent to the Kalahari Copper Belt.
Molopo is also under application for two licences covering 212km2 over the Molopo Farms Complex, which is prospective for nickel-copper-platinum group element mineralisation.
