Boab Metals (ASX:BML) is assessing its Sorby Hills Silver-Lead-Zinc Project, located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, with the company intending to return a final investment decision for the site in Q4 2025.
This comes after the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Sorby Management was granted approval for exploration activities at the project.
Under the Federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999, Sorby will be able to commence development activities at the planned open-pit operation.
This includes construction of a tailings storage facility, evaporation pond, borrow pit, and other relevant infrastructure.
Managing Director Simon Noon explains that the EPBC approval paints certainty for the future development plans at the Sorby Hills Project.
“This EPBC approval is a key milestone for Sorby Hills,” Noon says.
