Boab Metals (ASX:BML) has provided updates on the construction and development for its wholly owned and fully funded Sorby Hills silver-lead Project in Western Australia.
Boab made a final investment decision on the project in late 2025 and is now advancing toward first production, which is targeted for H2 2027. Sorby Hills is expected to produce an average of 2.2 million ounces of silver per annum once in production.
The company is currently progressing the early works program, which is on track for completion in early April 2026. The camp pad is complete, with the camp access road sub-base in place as well. The first level for the process plant pad and non-process infrastructure pad is also complete.
Boab has now awarded contracts for bulk earthworks, with mobilisation set to commence in March 2026.
Key project contracts are continuing to advance as well, with the early works, bulk earthworks, and camp contracts now executed. Negotiations are underway for preferred contractors for the processing plant and the non-process infrastructure work packages as well.
CEO Simon Noon says that the construction activities are progressing ahead of schedule.
“With early works nearing completion and major earthworks set to commence shortly, the project is continuing to build strong momentum as we move toward full-scale construction.”
Boab will continue to update the market as the company makes progress on development of Sorby Hills.
