Blue Jay Gold (TSX-V:JAY) reports gold and silver intercepts from its maiden drilling program at the Steller Gold Project in Yukon, Canada.
Hole SC26-003 returned 14m at 6.15 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 124g/t silver (Ag) from 495m, including 10.5m at 7.84g/t Au and 154g/t Ag.
The intersection extends mineralisation about 32m down plunge of SC21-027, which returned 14.8m @ 5.79g/t Au and 100.9g/t Ag in 2021.
“That is what continuity looks like: not just a string of separate hits, but a zone you can follow,” CEOO Geordie Mark says.
Hole SC26-001 returned 4.33m @ 4.63g/t Au and 74g/t Ag from 444.63m, supporting continuity at Skukum Creek.
Meanwhile, hole SC26-004 deviated from its planned trajectory and returned 1m @ 1.15g/t Au and 0.2g/t Ag from 377m. The company plans to re-drill this target in a future phase.
Initial drilling at Mt Skukum, the site of historical gold production between 1986 and 1988, returned 0.5m @ 57.4g/t Au and 44.1g/t Ag from 160.8m in hole MS26-001.
The system displays an intermediate sulphidation epithermal style comparable to districts including Fresnillo, Zacatecas, and Pachuca in Mexico.
Blue Jay has completed hyperspectral logging of about 18,000m of archived drill core, reading alteration mineral distribution and chemistry ahead of laboratory assay results.
Skukum Creek mineralisation is defined over a strike length of more than 1km within the Skukum Creek Structural Corridor, which extends more than 15km as defined by regional magnetic data.
The company has identified similar expansion potential across the project’s 170km2 land package. Drilling is ongoing, with follow-up holes planned to test down-plunge and along-strike continuity at the Rainbow zone.
Blue Jay Gold is a Canadian explorer that also holds the Pichette, Oakes, and Duc gold projects in Northwestern Ontario’s Beardmore-Geraldton and Wawa greenstone belts.
