Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) has added a further 10 reverse circulation (RC) drillholes for 1,900m to its current program at the Belvedere prospect within its Paulsens Gold Operation in Western Australia.
The extended program will test extensions to the Belvedere resource (30,000 ounces @ 6.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold), which was included as an underground mine in the November 2023 restart study.
Drilling is expected to begin in early December 2023.
This news comes after the $75.94 million market capitalisation company drilled an initial 13 RC holes for 2,128m aimed to target quartz-vein hosted gold along a 500m section of the more than 2.5km Belvedere Fault.
From this program, 10 holes intersected intervals of quartz-veining up to 6m wide, confirming the new geology model.
Black Cat Syndicate Managing Director Gareth Solly says the company is focusing on Belvedere where a mine has already been justified and there is ‘significant’ blue-sky potential.
Meanwhile at the Apollo prospect, the first round of RC drilling has been completed comprising 9 holes for 1,872m. All of the holes intersected quartz veining up to 4m wide within the planned targeted zones.
Solly says: “Apollo also presents as a strong near-mine opportunity. As recognised by our recent large JORC exploration target, discovery drilling around Paulsens at targets like Pantera and the Eastern Zone is also warranted.
Results should start to become available in early December 2023. These are awaited with great interest and will be used in the 2024 planning process.”
At the Pantera prospect, RC drilling has begun consisting of 9 holes for 1,350m. This program is targeting a more than 200 parts per million (ppm) copper+lead+zinc soil anomaly with historic surface sampling from quartz veining returning up to 11.90% copper and 22.20g/t gold.
Black Cat Syndicate is an ASX-listed gold-focused explorer, developer, and producer. The company has 3 gold operations in Western Australia, namely Paulsens, Coyote and Kal East.
