Fast-growing Western Australian gold (Au) explorer Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) reports it has uncovered a potential ‘high-grade’ lode following a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Bald Hill deposit, as part of its 100% owned Coyote Gold Operation in WA.
The results, generated by 6 RC drillholes, have intersected a potential offset lode that boasts potential to substantially extend the Sandpiper deposit underneath the poorly tested western end of the open pit.
It is reported that these results demonstrate shallow ‘high-grade’ mineralisation outside of the current resources and below the existing open pit, therefore extending oxide/transitional mineralisation.
Key results include 12m at 3.64g/t Au from 137m (22SPRC0004), 2m at 5.55g/t Au from 54m and 1m at 5.26g/t Au from 70m (22SPRC0001A).
The RC drill program was designed to test for extensions of shallow mineralisation at Sandpiper, specifically targeting areas previously thought to be closed off under the western end of the pit.
Speaking on the results, Black Cat Syndicate’s Managing Director, Gareth Solly said: “With 200koz located only 30km north of our Coyote processing facility, Bald Hill provides an excellent potential feed zone. With our new geology models and only a handful of holes, we have immediately found a shallow potential offset lode at Sandpiper with good widths and grades.

The Coyote region is highly prospective and remains underexplored. We see ‘significant’ potential to add scale by growing ‘high-grade’ resources quickly. Bald Hill is one of many exciting areas we will be drilling in 2023.”
The company also notes that the area of potential mineralisation extension under the western end of the open pit will be targeted for follow-up drilling and Mineral Resource upgrades during 2023.
Black Cat Syndicate is a fast-growing WA-based Au explorer that has established a substantial and growing portfolio of ‘high-grade’ Au resources in the prime WA gold regions of Eastern Goldfields, Eastern Pilbara and the Tanami. The company’s Coyote operation is situated about 20km on the western side of the WA/NT (Northern Territory) border on the Tanami Highway and covers a total land area of 440km-square, which consists of an open pit and an underground mine, a 300,000tpa processing facility and other related infrastructure.
The project currently boasts a combined total Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 3.0Mt at 5.1g/t Au for 488koz with several ‘high-grade’ targets in the surrounding area and have recovered 211,220oz at 4.9g/t Au from open pits since first production began in 2006. Black Cat Syndicate acquired the project in 2022.
With the recent RC drilling program now complete, Black Cat Syndicate announces it will move forward with with follow-up drilling and resource upgrades during 2023.
