Black Cat Syndicate continues to extend Gabbro Veins up-plunge at Paulsens Gold Operation

West Australian gold explorer Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) reports it is continuing to extend the Gabbro Veins resource up-plunge through ongoing drilling at the Paulsens Gold Operation in Western Australia.

The company says drilling to expand and upgrade the Gabbro Veins resource is ongoing with 2 underground drill rigs. New ‘encouraging’ results from outside the current resource include PGRD23001A with 1.44m @ 4.84g/t Au from 54.98m, 0.90m @ 9.32g/t Au from 59.30m, and 1.04m @ 4.14g/t Au from 67.96m.

Commenting on the results, Black Cat Syndicate Managing Director Gareth Solly says: “More extensional results from the footwall Gabbro Veins highlight their extensive and high-grade nature. The Gabbro Veins represent an untested opportunity at Paulsens with strong near-term mining potential, being located adjacent to the existing decline.

“The recent appointment of a new General Manager for Paulsens is a significant step forward for a potential restart decision in mid-2023”

With 2 underground diamond rigs now operating and accelerating results, we are excited about the growth potential of the high-grade underground resource at Paulsens. Engineering and mining studies are progressing well. The recent appointment of a new General Manager for Paulsens is a significant step forward for a potential restart decision in mid-2023.”

Black Cat reports 2 underground diamond rigs continue to drill readily accessible resource growth opportunities including the Gabbro Veins, Quartz Zone, and numerous other near-mine targets. It also notes an updated resource will be announced in May 2023.

Engineering and mining studies are also underway to support a potential restart decision in mid-2023. The 450,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) Paulsens processing plant is currently in care and maintenance and remains in good condition.

The company says the 7km long decline is fully dewatered and provides ready access to the Gabbro Veins and other mining areas.

Black Cat Syndicate is a West Australian gold explorer focused on its portfolio of gold projects across the state. These projects include the Coyote Gold Operation located near the Western Australia-Northern Territory border, the Paulsens Gold Operation located 180km west of Paraburdoo, and the Kal East Gold Project which covers about 800km-square near Kalgoorlie.
