Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) has hit a new milestone at the Kal East Gold Operation in Western Australia, with the Majestic main portal completing its first blast.
The first ore is expected to be delivered in the Q2 2025 to the Lakewood Processing Facility, which has an output of 1.2 million tonnes per annum and located just 40km from the project.
Black Cat has installed portal ground support along with a now mobilised initial mining fleet.
The company has set an initial production target at 776,000 tonnes @ 3.2 grams per tonne for 80,000 ounces of gold from the Majestic portal, which remains open along strike and down dip with potential for resource extensions.
Aligning with the company’s ‘More Gold, Sooner’ strategy, Managing Director Gareth Solly says along with the Fingals open pit, the Majestic portal is on track to provide long-term feed for the Lakewood Processing Plant.
“Witnessing the first blast at the Majestic main portal was a proud moment, marking the start of Black Cat’s second high-grade underground gold mine,” Solly says.
“This milestone was achieved on schedule and also coincides with the planned commencement of mining at the nearby Fingals open pit, which also remains on track.”
