Black Cat boosts Trojan and Imperial resources

Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) has reported updated mineral resource estimates for its Trojan and Imperial deposits as part of expanding capacity at the Kal East Gold Operation.

Trojan’s resource has increased 62% to 202,000 ounces, while Imperial’s updated resource stands at 84,000 ounces, with 81% in the indicated category.

Both deposits are located on 100%-owned mining leases and remain open at depth.

The company has likewise upped processing capacity at the Lakewood facility from 1.2 million tonnes per annum (tpa) to 1.5 million tpa, driving the strategy to fill this capacity and extend mine life.

Managing Director James Bruce says the “substantial” increase in gold mineralisation further highlights the “considerable” exploration upside within the company’s 740km2 Kalgoorlie tenement package.

“Trojan remains open at depth and along strike, with drilling now accelerating to further extend and upgrade the resource,” Bruce says.

Located 50km from Lakewood, the Trojan resource comprises 5.74 million tonnes grading 1.1 grams per tonne gold for 202,000 ounces.

The resource is located 50km from LakewoodThis includes an indicated resource of 1.84 million tonnes at 1.1g/t gold for 68,000 ounces and an inferred resource of 3.90 million tonnes at 1.1g/t gold for 134,000 ounces.

Recent reviews of Trojan reported ‘significant’ upside in unmodelled veins on both the hanging wall and footwall, which has driven most of the resource growth.

Meanwhile, Imperial’s total resource of 1.65 million tonnes at 1.6g/t gold for 84,000 ounces includes an open pit component of 70,000 ounces and an underground component of 15,000 ounces.

Previous drilling intercepts at Imperial pointing to open pit cut-back potential include 6m @ 6.51g/t gold from 53m and 4m @ 18.4g/t gold from 96m.

The company says infill drilling has commenced at Trojan to inform ongoing studies, while it continues to increase production from its nearby Majestic and Fingals mines.

Black Cat Syndicate is a multi-asset gold producer focused on Western Australia’s mining regions.
