Black Cat awaits first ore at Fingals

Black Cat Syndicate (ASX:BC8) is expected to deliver its first gold ore from the Fingals open pit in Western Australia within weeks, marking a key milestone for the group’s Kal East Gold Operations as activity ramps up under a new schedule-of-rates contract.

Fingals is anticipated to deliver an initial 2.2 million tonnes @ 1.7 grams per tonne gold for 120,000 ounces to the 1.2 million tonnes per year Lakewood processing facility with potential to grow in all directions and at depth.

Mining is currently focused on removing backfill from the existing pit and stripping the existing waste dump.

Black Cat says clearing and site establishment is underway at Fingals, with the office, go-line, and workshop areas cleared and building pads under construction.

Meanwhile at the Majestic underground operation, portal establishment works are complete with 160m of decline developed to date. Ore mining is expected to begin during the current quarter.

The company will also begin drilling from underground positions this quarter to further grow resources and ore reserves.

The Myhree and Boundary open pits are scheduled for completion this quarter, with mine closure activities beginning at Boundary. Development of the Myhree underground area remains in the ‘go-bay’ as one of the next fully approved mines in the production sequence.

Further, at the Lakewood processing facility a major maintenance shutdown took place last month. The facility resumed full operation late September 2025.

Managing Director Gareth Solly says once Fingals and Majestic have ramped up, both mines will supply 100% of the feed to Lakewood for years to come.

“Importantly, both deposits remain open with drilling planned to continue growing resources and reserves,” Solly says.

Black Cat Syndicate is a Western Australian gold producer with more than 4,800km2 of highly prospective tenements.

Gold prices climbed above $3,997 per ounce today as investors sought safety amid escalating political uncertainty across the world.

The precious metal has surged roughly 50% so far this year, putting it on track for its strongest annual performance since 1979, as reported by Trading Economics.
