Benz Mining (ASX:BNZ) has reported drilling results that continue to support the modelled wireframes underpinning its Glenburgh exploration target as the company advances toward a maiden mineral resource definition.
The latest drilling at the Icon camp returned an intercept of 27m @ 15.33 grams per tonne gold from 229m in hole 26CN029, which steps out from Icon into the adjacent Apollo area and opens a new ‘high-grade’ position along the Icon-Apollo trend.
Other significant drilling results include 52m @ 1.50g/t gold from 47m; 59m @ 2.47g/t gold from 288m; and 88m @ 1.87g/t gold from 103m.
CEO Mark Lynch-Staunton says the drilling continues to validate the geological model and increase confidence in the continuity of the mineralised system.
“The more we drill at Icon, the more we find, and the more confidence we build,” Lynch-Staunton says.
“Every drill fence completed to date has supported the wireframes underpinning the exploration target — and in several areas has extended them — adding mineralised volume, improving continuity, and growing high-grade zones within the broader Icon camp”.
He adds that Icon remains “firmly on track”.
“The model is holding together, the high-grade zones are growing, and drilling continues to support the exploration target as we advance the drill-supported wireframes toward maiden resource definition.”
Benz recently announced a maiden exploration target of 485 million tonnes to 540 million tonnes at 0.6 grams per tonne gold to 0.7g/t gold for 10.1 million ounces to 12.0 million ounces at its Glenburgh Gold Project, as reported.
Approximately 80% of the exploration target is already drill-defined, assay-supported, and wireframed.
The company is currently advancing Glenburgh on two fronts: accelerating systematic drilling across the Icon, Hurricane, and Thunderbolt camps, while progressing pre-development workstreams required to support future study work.
In parallel, Benz is progressing metallurgical testwork, processing flowsheet evaluation, geotechnical, hydrogeology, environmental baseline, infrastructure, and permitting-related work programs.
Located in Western Australia’s Gascoyne region, the 100%-owned Glenburgh Gold Project hosts an 18 to 20km mineralised corridor anchored by the Icon-Apollo trend and the Zone 126 system.
Benz Mining is a pure-play gold explorer with assets in Western Australia and Canada.
