Bellevue Gold (ASX:BGL) has been chosen to supply gold for the regilding of London’s St Paul’s Cathedral following a global search.
The company will provide gold for the ball and cross atop the landmark’s 111m dome and its Golden Gallery, which was last regilded in 1863.
Bellevue was selected as the exclusive supplier after Single Mine Origin founder Charlie Betts and The Goldsmiths’ Company Second Warden Joanna Hardy visited the Bellevue Gold Project in March 2026.
The regilding will require more than 50 ounces of gold as part of conservation work for The Goldsmiths’ Company’s 700th anniversary in 2027.
Selection was driven by Bellevue’s sustainability credentials, including its net zero scope one and scope two emissions profile and 83.5% renewable power usage in FY26. Hardy reportedly conducted due diligence on sourcing for the cathedral.
Managing Director Darren Stralow says being selected as the exclusive supplier represents a ‘huge honour’ for the company.
“The Cathedral’s Golden Gallery was last regilded in 1863, and the use of our ‘green gold’ means this will be a multi-generational legacy for Bellevue,” Stralow says.
The selection also builds on Bellevue’s supply chain provenance via its refining agreement with ABC Refinery and its expansion into premium sustainable gold markets, following a recent partnership with Parisian luxury house Messika.
Bellevue Gold is an Australian gold producer operating the ‘high-grade’ Bellevue Gold Project in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region.
