Belararox engages Argentina’s Conosur for maiden drilling

Belararox (ASX:BRX) has executed a letter of intent with Argentine mining services firm Conosur Drilling to undertake an initial diamond drilling program at the company’s Toro-Malambo-Tambo (TMT) Project in Argentina.

Drilling is anticipated to begin by early November once access tracks and drill pads to the Tambo South and Malambo project sites are completed.

The diamond drilling program is designed to test key copper-gold porphyry targets identified by Belararox’s team, headed by Exploration Director Jason Ward and Dr Steve Garwin, at the Tambo South and Malambo project sites.

It is at these sites where recent assay results and 3D geochemical modelling have confirmed the presence of copper-gold porphyry targets.

Belararox’s wholly owned subsidiary, GWK Minerals, has planned a drilling campaign consisting of up to 6,000m of diamond drilling. The campaign includes providing at least two hydraulic, diesel powered drilling rigs, with Conosur agreeing to accept 5% of the invoiced amount in Belararox shares.

In addition to the drilling and civil works contracts, GWK has secured agreements with service providers for fuel, medical facilities, and related services to support the FY 2025 field program.

With the 52km reopening of the main access road nearing completion, the camp is expected to reopen soon. The company says this will enable the continuation of field mapping and sampling activities shortly thereafter at other priority identified targets not tested during the FY 2024 field season.

Based in Buenos Aires and the San Juan Province, Conosur has experience in drilling services in different systems such as diamond, rotary, and reverse air drilling, as well as soil studies.

Belararox Managing Director Arvind Misra says the company looks forward to partnering with Conosur to carry out the maiden drilling campaign in Argentina.

“We greatly appreciate Conosur’s strong support for the project and their commitment to working with GWK to confirm the potential of the copper-gold porphyry targets identified at the TMT Project site,” Misra says.

Situated within Argentina’s San Juan Province, the TMT project occupies an unexplored area between the prolifically mineralised El Indo and Maricunga Metallogenic Belts.

Belararox says it has already identified numerous promising targets within the project. These targets are set to undergo thorough exploration as part of an extensive program led by an experienced Belararox team that is currently present on-site in Argentina.
