Belararox rocking more ‘high-grade’ zinc and copper mineralisation at Belara mine, NSW

Belararox (ASX:BRX) reports assay results from phase one reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Belara mine in the Lachlan Ford Belt, New South Wales has confirmed more ‘high-grade’ zinc and copper mineralisation.

At Belara, new assay results have been received from the final 6 holes of the phase one resource drilling.

BLDD028 was drilled to confirm the continuation of ‘high-grade’ zinc and copper base metal mineralisation in areas close to the surface.

Results from drillhole BLDD028 include 5m @ 6.80% Zn, 1.19% Cu, 1.38% Pb, 55.82g/t Ag and 1.10g/t Au from 51m, including 3m @ 11.17% Zn, 1.69% Cu, 2.25% Pb, 88.13g/t Ag and 1.68g/t Au.

BLDD028 intersected ‘significantly higher-grade’ base metal mineralisation than targeted, confirming shallow ‘high-grade’ zine and copper base metal mineralisation.

BLRC018D intersected a 5m wide zone of base metal mineralisation, confirming the continuity of the mineralisation in the historic resource model, and down-dip of BLRC014 and B028.

Results from BLRC018D include 5m @ 1.04% Zn, 0.43% Cu, 0.26% Pb, 9.78g/t Ag and 0.13g/t Au from 290m, including 2m @ 2.56% Zn, 0.52% Cu, 0.63% Pb, 19.25g/t Ag and 0.17g/t Au.

Belararox grades

Results from BLRC018D confirm mineralisation is open at depth compared to the previously identified mineralisation.

Results from BLDD028 confirm further ‘high-grade’ zinc and copper mineralisation closer to the surface over a 300m strike length, and the results from BLRC018D confirm mineralisation is open down-dip of the previously identified mineralisation.

Belararox Managing Director, Arvind Misra said these final assays confirm continuity of massive sulphide zones in the drilled area.

Our team is now focused on the completion of the Mineral Resource Estimate by October and planning for the next stage of our exploration around highly prospective strike and depth extensions.

We will continue to work with our advisors and the New South Wales government for the efficient grant of two new Exploration Licence Applications (ELA6176 and ELA6287).

Grant of these licences will present a new opportunity for exploration upside and will enable us to explore for possible repeats of Belara and Native Bee style mineralisation.”

The Belara and Native Bee mine areas are the first high priority targets for resource drilling.

A phased approach is being taken to the drilling of the Belara and Native Bee mine targets.

Phase One aims to deliver the density of drill assay intersections to support an Inferred Mineral Resource estimate prepared in accordance with the JORC Code over the known area of mineralisation at the Belara and Native Bee mines.

A total of 33 drillholes were completed in phase one, with new assay results from the final 6 drillholes received.

Acquisition of DHEM and FLEM survey data has been completed, with preliminary 3D appraisal of the data to be completed with supporting drilling data as inputs.

This technique could prove a viable method to map in 3D, potential strike and depth extensions at both Belara and Native Bee.

If successful, this technique will provide a valuable tool to quickly and cost effectively test those targets mapped by the prospectivity modelling, and provide more accurate 3D targets for the planned Phase Two drill plan.

The initial metallurgical flotation test work was completed, with encouraging preliminary results confirming the zinc, copper, and lead bearing sulphide minerals can be recovered using flotation.

The recovered concentrates are being assayed and follow up test work will be planned once the preliminary metal recoveries are understood.
