ASX-listed explorer Belararox (ASX:BRX) has appointed Jason Ward to its board as a Non-Executive Director, effective from 1 June 2023.
The company reports Ward is a director and shareholder of Condor Prospecting, which will be responsible for managing and executing the exploration activities on Belararox’s recently acquired Toro-Malambo-Tambo Project (TMT Project) in Argentina.
Belararox says Ward is based in Mendoza, Argentina, and he holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Geology, and is a Fellow and Chartered Professional of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Additionally, the company says Ward has had a ‘highly successful’ global career spanning over 25 years as an exploration geologist and has been involved in several discoveries in Oman, Laos, New Guinea, and Ecuador.
Most recently, Ward was ‘instrumental’ in the discovery of several gold deposits in Ecuador, including the tier-1 Cascabel copper-gold porphyry deposit for Brisbane-based gold miner Solgold (LON:SOLG).
Additionally, Belararox reports Ward has an ‘extensive’ track record of working with local communities and safely managing exploration teams, working with people from diverse cultures in challenging social and physical terrain.
In addition to his director’s fees, Belararox will also issue Ward 400,000 performance rights at no cost on terms and conditions to be finalised and approved by shareholders.
The company also reports Non-Executive Director Michelle Stokes will be retiring as director on 1 July 2023. Stokes is a founding shareholder of Belararox and has served as a Non-Executive Director since the company was listed in January 2022.
Commenting on the board changes, Belararox Non-Executive Chairman Neil Warburton says: “We would like to thank Michelle for her significant contribution to the company since listing, both as a non-executive director and as a geologist providing advice and guidance to the company and its management team.
“We are delighted to welcome Jason to the board of Belararox as the company expands its interests into Argentina”
We are delighted to welcome Jason to the board of Belararox as the company expands its interests into Argentina and look forward to working with him as the company seeks to pursue exploration activities with his highly experienced team.”
Belararox is an ASX-listed mineral explorer focused on securing and developing resources to meet the surge in demand from the technology, battery, and renewable energy markets, with a portfolio of projects considered prospective for zinc, copper, gold, silver, nickel, and lead.
The company recently acquired the TMT Base Metals Project with copper-gold porphyry potential in Argentina’s San Juan Province. This has become the company’s preferential project following the identification of several potential ‘large’ copper-gold porphyry targets in the project area.
In addition to the TMT Project, Belararox also holds the Belara Project near Dubbo in the East Lachlan Orogen of New South Wales and the Bullabulling Lithium-Caesium-Tantalum (LCT) Project near Coolgardie in Western Australia.
