Bayan Mining and Minerals (ASX:BMM) has submitted a notice of intent to the US Forest Service in order to conduct maiden drilling at its Bayan Springs South Project in Nevada.
Executive Director Fadi Diab says the submission of a notice of intent marks an “important milestone” for the company as it prioritises maiden drilling at Bayan Springs South.
“At the same time, the engagement of Charles Weakly significantly strengthens our technical team as we refine drill targets within what we believe is a coherent Carlin-style system,” Diab says.
Bayan has appointed Weakley, who holds 35 years of experience, as a senior geological consultant for the project. He has held a number of senior technical and district-level roles with Barrick Gold (TSX:ABX) at the Goldstrike operations.
“Charles brings exceptional Carlin Trend experience, including direct involvement in the discovery and development of major Nevada gold systems.
“With multiple feeder structures defined by controlled-source audio-frequency magnetotellurics, strong supporting surface geochemistry and a clear geological model in place, we are now focused on executing a disciplined and technically robust phase one drill program.”
Bayan Mining and Minerals is a mineral explorer focused on its portfolio of projects considered prospective for gold and silver in Nevada in the US, and Brazil.
