ICE Copper Project Bastion Minerals

Bastion targets copper resource early 2025

Bastion Minerals (ASX:BMO) is aiming to define a maiden mineral resource estimate in the first quarter of 2025 for its ICE Copper Project in Canada

An exploration target is also being assessed, based on available geophysics and geochemistry.

This news follows the start of core re-sampling at the project, as part of the process to convert the historical, foreign, non-JORC resource estimate to a JORC-compliant resource.

Bastion Minerals says initial assay results — including 10.98m @ 7.15% copper and 5.31m @ 9.88% copper — confirm the tenor of the historically recorded mineralisation.

Additional assay results include 6.51m @ 4.53% copper, 6.37m @ 2.77% copper, and 9.49m @ 2.88% copper.

Executive Chairman Ross Landles says re-assaying 10% of the mineralised intervals in the deposit will provide the company with a high level of confidence regarding original sampling, assaying, and non-JORC foreign resource estimate.

“It will also provide us with additional information on the gold mineralisation,” Landles says.

“In parallel with preparing for a maiden JORC-compliant resource, post re-assaying of core and geological modelling, we are excited to show the significant exploration upside of this project.

“With just 15% of the project area explored in any detail we are confident the historical untested geophysics and soil geochemistry will provide high-priority targets for drilling when conditions allow in 2025.”

Landles adds that the company is excited with the potential to uncover further mineralised deposits, to increase the project size, as deposits of the volcanic hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) type occur in clusters and may be vertically stacked around the feeder zones which localise mineralisation.

Additional sample results will be reported as they are received. The information will be checked against historical sampling intervals and used to evaluate the historical resource estimate, which did not include gold or cobalt mineralisation.

The ICE Copper Project is located in the south of the Yukon Province, 220km northeast of Whitehorse in Canada. The project hosts copper-gold-cobalt-silver VHMS mineralisation, with a historical, foreign resource estimate of 4.56 million tonnes @ 1.48% copper.

Bastion Minerals is an early-stage explorer focused on discovering copper, gold, and green metals.
