Bastion Minerals continues to reinforce flagship Capote Project with further ‘high-grade’ gold results

ASX-listed exploration and development company Bastion Minerals (ASX:BMO) reports it has received further ‘significant, high-grade’ gold (Au) results from an ongoing maiden diamond drilling (DD) program at its flagship Capote Gold Project in Chile’s Atacama region.

The results, generated by 4,056m of drilling from within the Resurgimiento and Resurgimiento 2 prospects, confirm that many veins remain open laterally and that mineralisation extends to depth and along strike.

‘Significant’ intercepts include 9.4m at 2.52g/t Au from 42m including 1.05m at 10.83g/t Au from 49m; and 2.35m at 5.00g/t Au from 49m (CPDH010).

Following completion of the maiden DD program, the company, which exhibited at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney last week, is expected to undertake an evaluation of the results for future follow-up drilling.

Speaking on the results, Bastion Minerals’ Executive Chairman, Ross Landles said: “We continue to make progress with our initial drill campaign at Capote. The Resurgimiento vein system is providing us with higher grades than previously reported. This is consistent with records as a ‘high-grade’ gold district. Historical information from the San Juan vein in the project indicated it produced at a grade of 40g/t gold for about 500,000oz.

“These results, together with the ‘significant’ near surface gold results already received, gives us further confidence in the maiden drilling campaign…”

These results, together with the ‘significant’ near surface gold results already received, gives us further confidence in the maiden drilling campaign and has the team waiting eagerly for the outstanding gold and multi-element assays.”

The company also notes that it intends to commence exploration at the Cometa Copper (Cu) Project, which represents an IOCG style Cu-Au target hosted within the same belt as Capote and boasts potential for a ‘large-scale’ porphyry discovery.

In addition, since announcing the appointment of a lithium (Li) expert to its geological team, the company has continued to identify new assets with a focus on its decarbonisation strategy by targeting Li, Cu, rare earth element (REE), graphite (C) and nickel (Ni) mineralisation.

Bastion Minerals is an exploration and development company focused on Au and Cu in Chile’s Atacama region through its ‘exciting’ portfolio of assets, which is surrounded by ‘significant’ mines which are producing ‘high-grade’ Au and Cu mineralisation. The company’s flagship Capote project is situated around the ‘significant’ San Juan gold vein, which is reported to have produced about 0.5Moz Au at 40g/t Au and processed a total of 1.7Moz Au at 52g/t Au.

With the maiden DD program still ongoing, Bastion Minerals announces it will move forward with additional drilling at its Cometa project while it awaits for outstanding gold and multi-element assays from the Capote project.
