Bastion hits target structures in every hole from scout drilling at Capote Gold Project, Chile

Bastion Minerals (ASX:BMO) announces it has hit the target structures in every hole and are encountering numerous new structures in each drillhole at its flagship Capote Gold Project in Chile.

Bastion has received gold assays for the first five drill holes of its ongoing 5,000m diamond drill program in the mineral-rich Atacama Region of Chile.

The aim of this scout program is to test the six main targets across the Capote Project to determine which targets have the potential for a ‘high-grade’ gold discovery.

‘Significant’ intersections include:

  • 1.6m @ 9.6g/t Au from 58.4m in CPDH003B
  • 1.1m @ 3.94g/t Au from 80.9m in CPDH003

Addressing the results, Bastion Executive Chairman Ross Landles said: “This is an excellent start to drilling at Capote. We have received assay results from the first five drill holes.

“This is an excellent start to drilling at Capote”

Given we are only partly through the scout program, we are excited to have hit the target structures in every hole and are encountering numerous new structures in each drillhole.

There is elevated gold in all structures drilled, which is particularly encouraging given the  scale of the district. We are reporting results here for the first 533m of drilling of an ongoing 5,000m drill program and further results will be released as results come to hand.

These initial results confirm our targeting strategy and supports a better understanding of what controls the mineralisation and opportunities to make significant discoveries at Capote.”

A single diamond drill hole (CPDH001) has been drilled at Yayito, targeting the depth extensions of a gold bearing vein at surface.

This drillhole encountered seven separate mineralised structures, characterised by fractured zones of rock with strong iron oxide staining and elevated gold. Four higher-grade structures were encountered near surface.

Future work at Yayito will include drilling other parallel structures and testing several Induced Polarisation (IP) chargeability anomalies.

Four short diamond drillholes have been drilled from two platforms at Colo Colo and gold results have been returned.

Drilling at Colo Colo is targeting the central portion of the outcropping gold bearing vein. The mineralised structure was intersected in all holes and an additional mineralised structure was encountered towards the end of the drillhole.

Bastion Minerals is an Australian listed exploration company focused on discovering ‘high-grade’ precious and base metals deposits within the mineral-rich Atacama region of Chile.

Bastion’s strategy is to apply cutting-edge exploration to make  multiple discoveries on its highly prospective Capote Gold, Cometa Copper-Gold and Garin Gold-Silver Projects, which have had no modern exploration.
