Basin Energy (ASX:BSN) is set to begin a maiden drilling program in June 2023 at its Geikie Uranium Project on the eastern flank of the Athabasca Basin, Canada.
The company has secured contractors and crews for an initial 8 holes for about 2,000m of diamond drilling, designed to test features associated with a regionally ‘significant’ conductor deemed favourable to host shallow, ‘high-grade’ uranium mineralisation.
Basin Energy will be presenting at the Mines and Money Connect Melbourne conference on 14 and 15 June 2023. The company notes its representatives will be available to discuss Basin’s ‘exciting’ progress.

As this drilling commences, Basin continues to develop the secondary targets identified at Geikie whilst bolstering its North Millennium and Marshall targeting criteria.

The initial drilling campaign intends to focus on features associated with the ‘strong’ coherent, regionally ‘significant’ northeast trending conductor, classified as a primary target, striking through the southern half of the project.
The company has contracted Athabasca Catering Limited Partnership, which is also partnered with ITL Diamond Drilling, to complete the drilling services.
The program is anticipated to take 6 weeks to complete.
