Basin Energy (ASX:BSN) has secured 183km2 of new tenure, expanding its Sybella-Barkly footprint to 6,140km2 in Queensland.
The company is currently drilling for district-scale rare earths and uranium targets on the landholding, which is considered prospective for clay-hosted rare earths and paleochannel uranium, supported by historical airborne electromagnetic and geochemical anomalies.
Around 3,000m of aircore drilling is ongoing and scheduled for completion in Q4 2025, initially targeting sediment-hosted rare earths. Further drilling will confirm the characteristics of the interpreted channels.
Managing Director Pete Moorhouse says with drilling well underway at the first of three district-scale targets for rare earths and uranium at this prospective project, the company is stoked to expand its land position through an application of an additional permit.
“Our company’s drill program has been progressing well to date, and I have been onsite for the last week, personally overseeing the progress,” Moorhouse says.
Basin has also finalised a conduct and compensation agreement covering work for the next 12 months at Ardmore Station – a critical milestone enabling the company to continue with its exploration program.
The Sybella-Barkly Project hosts paleochannel and shear-hosted uranium targets, clay-hosted and hard-rock rare earths.
Basin Energy is a mineral explorer and developer focused on green energy metal deposits required to fuel the clean energy transition.
