Aya Gold & Silver posts record quarterly production at Zgounder

Aya Gold & Silver (TSX:AYA) has delivered record quarterly production at its Zgounder Mine in Morocco, producing about 1.68 million ounces of silver equivalent during the second quarter.

The result marks the company’s highest quarterly output to date and is 61% higher than the same period last year.

Silver production reached 1.49 million ounces, up 43% year-on-year.

Aya says the stronger performance was supported by the start up of its pyrite reclaiming operation at Boumadine, which contributed about 190,000 ounces of silver equivalent.

During the quarter, the company mined a record 4,880 tonnes per day from Zgounder’s combined open-pit and underground operations.

The processing plant also achieved a record throughput of 3,889 tonnes per day while maintaining a silver recovery rate of 91.2%.

“Processing rates are running at expected levels and reflect the successful implementation of optimisation initiatives,” CEO Benoit La Salle says.

“This strong operational performance positions us well to achieve our 2026 production targets.”

For 2026, Aya is guiding silver production of between 6.2 million and 6.8 million ounces.

Year to date, consolidated silver equivalent production totals 3.17 million ounces, about 50% higher than the corresponding period in 2025.

Aya Gold & Silver is a Canadian precious metals mining company anchored in Morocco and active across the full mining value chain.
