Avira Resources prepares to launch SkyTEM survey over Puolalaki Project, Northern Sweden

Avira Resources (ASX:AVW) is ready to launch a SkyTEM helicopter-borne electromagnetic (EM) survey this week over the Puolalaki Project in Northern Sweden.

The company says the survey system will effectively screen the entire project area for moderate-to-strong conductors potentially down to 100m to 200m below surface and will test the project’s known mafic intrusion and surrounding ground for conductors.

Avira notes targets with ‘extremely high’ conductivity will not be detectable due to the limitations of airborne EM surveys. However, these surveys still often produce a recognisable response linked with the halo zone.

Preliminary data from the survey will be available within days of completing the survey and will then be processed and analysed by Avira’s geophysics consultant, Precision Geophysics.

Commenting on the survey, Avira Resources Managing Director David Deloub says: “We’re keen to commence the SkyTEM survey at Puolalaki, where we’ve successfully identified a wide zone of nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation in the recent diamond drilling.

Avira is excited by the potential to identify additional EM conductors across the wider project area”

Avira is excited by the potential to identify additional EM conductors across the wider project area, using the latest EM technology with penetration depths far superior to those surface slingram methods used by NAN in 1997.”

Once the SkyTEM survey is completed, a phase two diamond drilling program will be finalised, which will include any anomalies identified through the survey, as a result of the phase one diamond drilling program and those anomalies uncovered through the follow-up downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey.

The Puolalaki Project currently consists of a single exploration permit centred over a syn-orogenic gabbro intrusion that hosts the nickel mineralisation uncovered by NAN in 1998.

The project area also contains ‘significant high-grade’ gold mineralisation across 2 zones within the metasediments and metavolcanics surrounding the gabbro.

Avira Resources is an ASX-listed mining exploration company that holds 2 tenement packages within the Paterson Range province of Western Australia, along with its Swedish assets. As of 31 March 2023, Avira had $1.755 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
