A cabal of investors and mining executives will descend into Queensland next week for the annual Brisbane Mining Investor Conference, which will held on 22-23 March.
Making a keynote address on the first day of the event is Austex Resource Opportunities Principal Consultant Rob Murdoch. Speaking to Mining.com.au, Murdoch says his presentation to pundits will focus on the state of Australia’s resources market so far this year.
While he was unable to elaborate further, the industry stalwart suggests there will be plenty of themes to discuss to pique the interest of conference attendees.
Murdoch says he will continue to collate data over the coming week and just prior to the event will select certain commodities and assess companies in more detail in a bid to uncover trends and ideas for the rest of the year.
“Firstly, we look at the ASX resource sector as a group of around 876, share price, cash, capital raisings etcetera. Then the companies in their 24 commodity groups are assigned by flagship project. (We look at) share price changes versus commodity prices and so on, and I’ll talk about what has worked and what has not. Maybe the short-term and longer challenges for the sector too.”
Launched in 2018, the Brisbane Mining Investor Conference is an investor event designed to provide investors, brokers, and fund managers with a better understanding of current investment opportunities in Australia’s mining, energy, and exploration sectors. The event will again be showcasing a mix of ASX-listed micro to mid-market cap minerals and energy companies.
Companies set to present at the conference this year include Technology Metals Australia (ASX:TMT), Legacy Minerals (ASX:LGM), Allup Silica (ASX:APS), Andromeda Metals (ASX:ADM), and Pacgold (ASX:PGO).
Austex undertakes an independent critical summary and review of the key points of all ASX resource project announcements each day
Austex undertakes an independent critical summary and review of the key points of all ASX resource project announcements each day, while offering advice on the project’s status. The firm’s reports provide key technical information and independent opinions, while also critiquing the progress of projects held by every ASX-listed resource company.
While Austex does not make recommendations, the information it provides is designed to assist subscribers in undertaking their own independent due diligence.
All reports issued by Austex are edited by Murdoch who has more than 50 years’ experience in mining, as contractor and a consultant, including periods as the contract CEO of ASX, TSXV, AIM-listed junior resource companies. He has also managed raising more than $100 million of capital for mineral exploration, feasibility studies, and development of resource projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
The conference, now in its fifth year, is hosted at Brisbane’s Royal on the Park Hotel and will run from 22-23 March.
