Aureka extends resource at Comstock

Aureka (ASX:AKA) has identified mineralisation across multiple gold intercepts at Comstock beyond its maiden resource estimate at the St Arnaud Project, Victoria as part of an ongoing diamond drilling program.

Intersections returned 6.9m @ 4.24 grams per tonne gold from 422.1m including 0.75m @ 18.6g/t gold from 422.1m and 3.2m @ 4.71g/t gold from 434m including 0.6m @ 19.9g/t gold from 435.9m.

Aureka is following up on its inferred mineral resource with mineralisation intercepting down dip, associated with pyrite, arsenopyrite, galena, and sphalerite inside of the sheared stylolitic quartz veins.

Managing Director James Gurry says the company is looking forward to advancing St Arnaud with upcoming results from the ongoing program.

“It’s extremely positive to see mineralisation continuity down dip along the main Comstock shear at St Arnaud,” Gurry says.

“The elevated grade intercepts have potential to rapidly add to our already substantial global resource inventory, including at St Arnaud.”

The project returned its JORC-compliant resource estimate last month with 1.45 million tonnes at 1.21g/t gold for 56,500 ounces gold.

Aureka will be attending the Noosa Mining Investor Conference, held between 23-25 July, at the Peppers Noosa Resort.
