Aurbis Resources (CSE:AURR) has completed a technical report on the Ecru Project in Nevada, which identifies three prospective target types.
The target types include Robertson, Carlin, and epithermal vein-style gold mineralisation.
Ecru’s southern portion, where outcrop is present, is considered the highest priority near-term target. This area represents the Robertson-analogous intrusion-related gold potential.
Meanwhile in the northern portion, gravity data suggests an anomaly may represent either lower-plate carbonate rocks or an intrusive body at depth. This is considered favourable for Carlin-type mineralisation. Aurbis says this target has not been directly drill-tested, but a nearby hole encountered upper-plate shales, siltstones, and hornfels at depth.
The northeast corner of Ecru is close to the projected extent of the Northern Nevada Rift. Aurbis says this raises the possibility of epithermal-style gold mineralisation.
The next steps
Aurbis says these findings corroborate its exploration rationale for the project, while also suggesting geological mapping, rock sampling, a detailed magnetic survey, a potential induced polarisation survey, and drilling should be carried out.
CEO Johan Lambrechts says the company is building momentum on Ecru.
“The NI 43-101 technical report and the high-definition drone magnetic survey, which will be reported on soon, support our original view of the project,” Lambrechts says.
“The additional epithermal-style, North Nevada Rift-related mineralisation potential, of which the Fire Creek deposit is only about 30km north of Ecru, is a welcome addition to Ecru, which we plan to explore fully.”
Aurbis intends to implement the activities recommended by the report and has already started a high-definition magnetic survey. The survey will be inverted to produce a 3D view of the project’s magnetic characteristics and structurally interpreted to better understand potential fluid conduits.
The Ecru Project sits within the Battle Mountain-Eureka trend of Carlin gold deposits.
