Aurbis Resources (CSE:AURR) has completed a series of geophysical surveys at its Ecru Gold Project in Nevada, US, as it advances drill targeting at the prospective gold property.
The work included a high-resolution magnetic survey to follow up the recent identification of a hornfels alteration zone, which the company believes could be significant for the project’s exploration potential.
Located in Lander County, the Ecru Project lies at the intersection of three major geological structures associated with producing mines and development projects owned by Nevada Gold Mines (NGM).
Aurbis says the magnetic data will help refine final drill targets, noting the hornfels alteration is associated with the intrusion-related gold mineralisation identified at NGM’s Robertson Project.
“Building a resilient, science-based data package to support exploration activities and eventual drill design is the Aurbis way, and we are pleased with the progress made on the Ecru Gold Project,” CEO Johan Lambrechts says.
“The hornfels alteration identified during mapping was a critical and exciting discovery. It will form the foundation of our targeting work.”
The company also completed LiDAR (light detection and ranging) and photogrammetry surveys to identify historical mine workings and other surface anomalies.
Aurbis plans to undertake follow-up geological mapping across the priority target areas identified to date.
“Additional geophysical and geochemical interpretation will assist in refining the drill design at Ecru,” Lambrechts says.
Aurbis Resources is a gold explorer committed to systematic, data-driven discovery on ground with genuine geological merit.
