Augustus Minerals (ASX:AUG) says it has discovered a 1km-long copper zone within the Ti-Tree Project in Western Australia.
At the Nero prospect, rock chip assay results recorded grades up to 3.1% copper and up to 11 grams per tonne silver over a 1.1km strike length.
The copper and silver mineralisation is hosted within malachite bearing quartz veins in dolerite and granite along a northeast trending zone of faults.
Augustus Minerals, which has a market capitalisation of $7.83 million, says the work to date has identified three copper-silver-bearing structures at Claudius, Tiberius, and now Nero.
The three mineralised northeast trending structures are considered “significant” as potential exists to uncover further structures in the area.
At the Tiberius prospect, assay results have recorded up to 236g/t silver, 35% copper, and 20.5% lead.
Several other northeast trending Mundine Well dolerites have been identified on air photo, which require field checking.
Mapping and fieldwork is continuing to uncover suitable drilling platforms for future programs to be carried out.
Augustus Minerals adds that a deep diamond drilling program at the Minnie Springs copper-molybdenum porphyry prospect will be conducted. The drilling program, which is planned for September or October, will test the core of the system for high-grade copper sulphide mineralisation.
