Astute Metals (ASX:ASE) is pushing towards a maiden resource estimate of its Red Mountain Lithium Project in Nevada, after the return of assays from its final two drillholes in the recent drilling campaign.
The April 2025 diamond drilling campaign identified lithium in clay-bearing mudstones, siltstones, and sandstones, with drillhole RMDD008 returning six intersections of lithium mineralisation.
Assays include 62.4m @ 1,210 parts per million (ppm) lithium and 0.64% lithium carbonate equivalent from 152.2m including a zone of 27.5m @ 1,421ppm lithium and 0.76% lithium carbonate equivalent at drillhole RMDD008.
The total campaign has expanded known mineralisation by 630m above its previous northernmost intersection, returning the highest grade and width intersections at the project to date.
Chairman Tony Leibowitz says this campaign has been “highly successful” with the return of more than 170m of lithium mineralisation from one drillhole.
“The consistent high-grade intercepts seen in the Red Mountain drill-holes reinforce the Project as a standout compared to the majority of lithium clay projects in the USA,” Leibowitz says.
“The drilling so far has delineated a sizable body of clay-hosted lithium mineralisation over an extensive strike length of 5.6km and extending to depths of 180m, with multiple broad, high-grade intercepts.”
Results will be fed into the project’s maiden resource estimate, planned for delivery later this year.
As reported by Mining.com.au, Astute will also collate assays from this drilling campaign with previous drill results ahead of drilling in H2 2025.
