Astro Resources proposes name change to Astute Metals

ASX-listed Astro Resources (ASX:ARO) has proposed a name change to Astute Metals to mark its ongoing progress under a new board and management team.

The company intends to seek shareholder approval at a forthcoming general meeting, which has been delayed to take place on 17 July 2023.

Astro says the proposed new name will reflect its core focus on ‘astute business development and growth activity’, with an emphasis on optimising the risk/reward profile of its asset base.

Additionally, the new name incorporates the use of ‘metals’ to take into account the critical nature of lithium and copper, for which Astro is currently exploring.

Commenting on the proposed name change, Astro Resources Executive Chairman Tony Leibowitz says: “Changing the name to Astute Metals represents a further important step in reinvigorating the company in terms of its assets, board and management and, in our view, more accurately reflects its mission and purpose — which, at the end of the day, is based on employing astute business practices to create value for shareholders.

Changing the name to Astute Metals represents a further important step in reinvigorating the company … and, in our view, more accurately reflects its mission and purpose”

With a general meeting already taking place, the board has taken this opportunity to further take the necessary steps to further advance the company to the next level.”

Astro says this decision follows a number of ‘important’ corporate and strategic developments for the company, such as the expansion of its portfolio of ‘highly prospective’ claystone-hosted lithium exploration licences in Nevada, US.

This also follows the appointment of lithium industry executives Tony Leibowitz and John Young as Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director, respectively, to help drive Astro’s North American lithium strategy.

Additionally, Astro says progress has been made at the Governor Broome Mineral Sands Project, at which the company is advancing a Scoping Study, alongside work being conducted at the Georgina Basin IOCG Project.

Astro Resources is a mineral exploration company focusing on the identification and advancement of ‘high-quality’ mineral resource assets in tier-one jurisdictions.
