Aruma Resources (ASX:AAJ) is conducting ongoing exploration work at the Fiery Creek Project in Queensland, to begin drill testing several priority targets.
Drill testing is expected to begin once heritage surveys have been completed and after the wet season in northern Queensland in 2025.
The planned and ongoing work at the project includes Aruma analysing high-resolution satellite and hyperspectral data, mapping and ground truthing, as well as structural analysis.
Managing Director Grant Ferguson says field activities are expected to further refine existing targets, provide a better understanding of the potential for a larger mineralised system, and potentially uncover further opportunities within the areas.
“Aruma is focused on consolidating and expanding the known footprint of this anomaly and plans to initiate our first drill testing of these initial targets in 2025,” Ferguson says.
The targets were uncovered via an induced polarisation (IP) geophysical survey which highlighted distinct near-surface chargeability high anomalies at the Piper prospect. The company says this discovery potentially indicates sulphide mineralisation.
In particular, two shallow IP anomalies have been defined along a 350m strike and remain open along strike.
Ferguson adds that the IP results provide an “excellent” starting point for the Fiery Creek Project.
“The scale of the coherent IP anomaly, coupled with coinciding geochemical anomalies, favourable surface geology, and inferred structural trends, establishes it as the initial high-priority target for stratabound and structurally controlled copper-silver-antimony mineralisation,” he says.
Meanwhile, Aruma is currently in the process of assessing and refining the existing targets within the Wilan Iron-Oxide Copper Gold-Uranium Project in South Australia. The targets include an IOCG and uranium target.
Aruma has also uncovered a new target area in the northern region of the project from a detailed review of Wilan’s data.
This target appears to host outcropping sediments over a substantial area, with known mineral occurrences up to the northern boundary of the project area in the same geological units common to the area.
A heritage survey has begun and the company is negotiating an access agreement with the Arabana People. Completing this work is a key focus for Aruma and is a prerequisite for starting on-ground exploration work.
Aruma Resources is a mineral explorer focused on the discovery and development of a portfolio of prospective projects. The company’s assets are considered prospective for copper, uranium, gold, lithium, and rare earths.
